Market insights

Domestically, prices for RB3 (4800 NAR) thermal coal at the ex-Gangavaram port dropped significantly. In February, the indexed prices stood at INR 7,207/t, down by INR 166/t from INR 7,373/t in January. Similarly, CNF Gangavaram prices for the same grade fell by $2, from $74/t in January to $72/t in February. Increased domestic coal availability in recent auctions conducted by CIL subsidiaries and the decline in domestic prices have kept imported coal prices under pressure.
